Bill Bentley - Assistant Chief
Ground search & rescue unit made up of volunteers from Fire Departments, ATV riders, horse riders, local sportsmen and hikers. Unit aids local volunteer fire departments to conduct searches for persons such as hikers, children and elderly people. Also conducts search & rescue for ATV riders who may be lost or injured in ATV riding accidents.
Pine Mountain Search & Rescue will be activated through 911 or local fire department.
No direct calls will activate Pine Mountain Search & Rescue.
We welcome anyone who wants to join to pick-up an application at the Emergency Management office, Letcher County Judge's office or on the job section of this site. Requirements are listed, all training is provided.
